About ECMA |
ECMA - the European Chamber Music Academy - is recognized as the number one "talent factory" of European chamber music ensembles. ECMA is dedicated to promoting young aspiring top ensembles and hence to promoting the tradition and development of European chamber music. It has charitable status and its activities are non-profit-making.
ECMA was founded 2004 on the initiative of Hatto Beyerle and is today an association of European music educational institutions and festivals in the field of chamber music, which are together providing an ongoing training for chamber music ensembles. Within this program the partner institutions host regular sessions (duration 1 week). Renowned tutors work intensively with the ensembles who receive impulses for their artistic work also by lectures and focus work shops in e.g. cultural history, historically informed performance practise and philosophy. Furthermore ECMA naturally developes new networks by bringing together people from different backgrounds and cultures.
