Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) coordinates Erasmus Intensive Programme "Session of European Chamber Music Academy" (Erasmus IP S_ECMA) which will take place from June 13 to 24 in Vilnius.

Professors Johannes Meissl (Vienna), Avedis Kouyoumdjian (Vienna), Yovan Markovitch (Paris), Petr Prause (Manchester), Paavo Pohjola (Helsinki), Zdislaw Łapiński (Krakὁw), Janina Romańska-Werner (Krakὁw), Piotr Tarcholik (Krakὁw), Julius Andrejevas (Vilnius), and Augustinas Vasiliauskas (Vilnius) will work intensively with 13 ensembles from 7 countries who receive impulses for their artistic work also by lectures on Lithuanian history and culture by the historian Dr. Loreta Skurvydaitė (Vilnius University), Lithuanian Chamber Music by the composer, professor Mindaugas Urbaitis (LMTA) and Synthesis of Arts by the filmmaker, associate professor Stasys Baltakis (LMTA).

ECMA - European Chamber Music Academy session Vilnius 2012 brings together the chamber music performers in a collaborative effort to share professional experience and creative ideas. Public masterclasses and concerts will enable participants to master their musicianship skills by learning from renowned chamber music professors and the high level of other participants.

Participants of ECMA session will get acquainted with the capital city Vilnius and rich Lithuanian culture. Events of the session will take place in historical venues – National Museum Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, Concert Hall of Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, Vilnius University, and Museum of Applied Arts. Lecturers will introduce Lithuanian history and culture, as well as contemporary Lithuanian chamber music.

The Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre is honoured to organise the already traditional and intenationally acclaimed session of ECMA, which will enrich Vilnius with chamber music sounds. I wish the session participants creative impulses and positive inspirations in our capital, which is recognized by UNESCO as a historical World Heritage site.
