Studies at the Academy are organised in three-cycle system: 1) Bachelor’s degree studies (4 years, 240 ECTS credits), 2) Master’s degree studies (2 years, 120 ECTS credits), 3) Postgraduate studies: Ph.D. (4 years) and Art Licentiate diploma (2 years).
The 1st cycle is a full-time, four-year undergraduate studies programme, leading to the Bachelor’s degree, which includes three types of Bachelor degrees relevant to professional qualifications:
1) The BA in Music (Bachelor of Arts in Music) degree is conferred to those who earn 240 ECTS credits and successfully complete study programmes in: music performance (qualification of music performer or conductor), composition, (composer’s qualification), general pedagogy of music (teacher certification), musicology and ethnomusicology (no professional qualification); 2) The BA in Theatre degree is conferred to those who successfully complete study programmes in acting (actor,); acting-dancing (choreographer); theatre directing (director’s professional qualification), theatre theory and history (no professional qualification); 3) The BA in Multimedia Arts degree is conferred to those who successfully complete study programmes in: sound directing (director’s professional qualification), film, theatre and music management (no professional qualification); TV camera (cameraman’s professional qualification); TV directing (director’s professional qualification). The 2nd cycle is a full-time two-year graduate studies programme, leading to the Master of Arts degree, which includes the same three types of Master degrees as described in the 1st cycle: MA in Music (music performer’s, conductor’s, composer’s, teacher professional qualifications), MA in Theatre (actor’s, dancer’s, choreographer’s, director’s professional qualifications), and MA in Multimedia Arts (director’s and cameraman’s professional qualifications). The 3rd cycle – a four year studies programmeleading to the doctoral degree – Ph.D. in Humanities for students of musicology, ethnomusicology, theatre theory and history (4 years of studies); a two year studies programme leading to the Art Licentiate degree for music performers, composers and directors. The third cycle leads to academic qualification only.
