Prof. Emeritus Dr. HELMUT LOOS will read a lecture „Post-factual Music Historiography: Ludwig van Beethoven's Missa Solemnis and Alban Berg's Wozzeck“.

According to Prof. Helmut Loos, "Classical e-music is at the same time a historical fact and current aesthetic present. This leads to a dilemma that has led to the distortion of the history of music, since time-conditioned emotions cover the historically justifiable facts and promote legends. If it is well known in general historiography that deliberate fallacies can be coped with the manipulation of historical consciousness beyond the difficulties of adequate interpretation of verifiable facts, a historico-critical historiography of music must take into account the special role played by the arts since the eighteenth century And especially music in modern society as the most important identification medium. In this way, every social current was directed to align the composers, recognized as social leaders, to their ideals. On the basis of two prominent examples this function mechanism will be shown."
