NORD+MIX: CREATIVE WORKSHOP IN SPATIAL SOUND SPHERE

NORD+MIX is a second year intensive hands-on workshop, which offers an opportunity to work on development of spatial sound compositions and experiment with innovative music technology. Music Innovation Study Centre of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre will be the main project venue where 24 students and 10 composition and music technology professors from 9 Nordic-Baltic partner schools will collaborate. 
 
After theoretical lectures given by professors, students will work in 3 groups: group A will develop creative projects with contemporary ensemble Synaesthesis musicians – Marta Finkelštein, Artūras Kažimėkas, Vytautas Ošklinis, and Monika Kiknadzė; group B will create improvised music project in collaboration with students of contemporary music and improvisation – singer Tua Hakanpää (EAMT), Dominykas Norkūnas (guitar), and Kristupas Gikas (flute); and group C will create electroacoustic pieces.

NORD+MIX is trans-disciplinary intensive hands-on workshop with a strong emphasis on working with innovative music technology by employing experience, tools and methodology developed in LMTA MiSC and assisted by well experienced teachers from partner institutions. It will bring together students of composition, sound design, music technology and sound art.
Creative workshops and individual consultations by composition and music technology professors from Nordic/Baltic partner institutions will inspire young composers and encourage them to develop, produce, mix and present spatial sound and music projects performed by string quartet CHORDOS.
