Dalia Kuznecovaitė

The first prize and gold medal winner of the International Henryk Szeryng Competition (2008), and the winner of the International Johannes Brahms Competition (2008), Vilnius-born violinist Dalia Kuznecovaite started playing the violin as early as four. Upon graduating from the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art where Dalia Kuznecovaitė studied in 2004-2007 with Professor Beata-Marija Šmidtienė and Professor Jonas Urba, the young performer entered the Cologne University of Music and Dance (Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Germany) in the class of Professor Zakhar Bron. In 2007-2012, she studied at the Rostock University of Music and Drama (Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock, Germany) with Professor Petru Munteanu. Later, in 2012-2015, the aspiring violinist continued her studies with Professor Boris Garlitsky and Professor Svetlin Roussev at Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris) where the graduate was awarded the best grades and the special prize. Since 2004, Dalia has been a grantee of Mstislav Rostropovich’s Fund.

Dalia Kuznecovaitė has worked with conductors Mstislav Rostropovich, Michael Sanderling, Mykola Diadiura, Enrique Bátiz,  Fabio Mastrangelo, Saulius Sondeckis, Andris Poga, and Ertuğ Korkmaz.

The violinist has been the primaria of the Vilnius String Quartet since December 2015. In the same year, she won a scholarship of Banque Populaire Fund (Paris, France). Dalia plays the French violin Paul Bailly 1881.

As a soloist, Dalia Kuznecovaitė takes an active part in concerts held in many countries of Europe and the USA. Dalia has performed with the The Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern (Germany), Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock (Germany), Kärntner Symphonie Orchester (Austria), the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, the State Hermitage Orchestra (St. Petersburg, Russia), the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra (Canada), the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra (Poland), the Mexico City Philharmonic Orchestra, Guanajuato Philharmonic Orchestra (Mexico), the Monterey Symphony Orchestra (Mexico), and the Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier in Languedoc-Roussillon (France).

Having become very keen on teaching, in September 2016 Dalia Kuznecovaitė joined the team of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater.
