Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts – to the LMTA professors
Congratulations to the LMTA professors – choir conductor and composer Vytautas Miškinis and ethnomusicologist Daiva Vyčinienė – who were awarded the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts!
Vytautas Miškinis, the choir conductor, composer and long-term professor of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, was awarded for the enrichment and promotion of choral culture; ethnomusicologist, professor and head of the LMTA Department of Ethnomusicology, dr. habil. Daiva Vyčinienė – for actualization of folklore studies.
Our gratulations also go to the actor, LMTA alumni Vidas Petkevičius, who was granted for memorable roles in theatre and films (Petkevičius graduated the LMTA in 1975). Other laureates of the National Prize – art critic Agnė Narušytė, photographer Remigijus Treigys and interdisciplinary artist Dainius Liškevičius.
The laureates of the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts were announced on 8 December in the Ministry of Culture.
The prize is formally bestowed on February 16 – on the State Restoration Day, when the decorations and diplomas are presented to the laureates at Presidential Palace.
