Prof. Artūras Anusauskas is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, head of the Jazz Department of the LAMT. Participant of international jazz festivals in Bucharest, Birštonas, Kaunas, Vilnius, Klaipėda, Luxembourg, Montreux, Minsk, Kiev, Vitebsk, Chisinau and others. The pianist has given many solo piano concerts, performed with the State Symphony Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra. He has given concerts with renowned foreign performers such as Steve Houghton (USA), Jimmi Roger Pedersen (Denmark), Jeff Cascaro (Germany), Anne Kierulf (Denmark), Marco Tamburini (Italy), Rusty Jones (USA), Mauro Campobasso, Daniele Scannapieco, Gaetano Partipilo (Italy), Vytautas Labutis, Vladimir Chekasin. In 1994 Anusauskas’ Jazz Quintet won the Grand Prix of the Birštonas Festival, in 1997 – the winner of the Leipzig International Improvisation Competition, in 2005 – the Golden Disk Prize of the Lithuanian Musicians’ Union for the outstanding artistic activity of the last years. His discography includes 29 CDs.
