GUEST FROM SWITZERLAND: PATRICK JÜDT (VIOLA)
Masterclasses for chamber ensemble and string quartet

Patrick Jüdt (viola) is an internationally renowned soloist and chamber musician, as well as an active promoter and conductor of contemporary music. During his career, he has appeared at major festivals and concert halls, including the Wiener Festwochen, Schleswig-Holstein, Lucerne, Pablo Casals Music Festivals, the Berlin and Cologne Philharmonics, the Tonhalle Zürich, the Champs Elysees, the Wigmore Concert Hall and others. It is important to mention Patrick Jüdt’s close collaboration with composers and musicians such as Helmut Lachenmann, György Kurtág, Heinz Holliger and Hansheinz Schneeberger, which led to his deep interest in the intimate relationship between the avant-garde and the cultural tradition.

Patrick Jüdt is professor of viola, chamber music and contemporary music at the Bern University of the Arts. Together with Minna Pensola and Johannes Meissl, he is Artistic Director of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA).

Registration is open until 20 March.
