International film camp ‘Nord Creative Camp 2025’ kicks off in Kintai

“Nord Creative Camp” is an international film camp held in Kintai, bringing together students and lecturers from 11 film schools that are part of the NordFilm network. The camp, taking place for the third time, will begin on June 26 and is organized by the National Film School KIMO of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.

For two weeks, students and mentors from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Iceland, Denmark, and Lithuania will reside in Kintai, working together to create films at various locations across the Curonian Lagoon region.

Guests invited to Kintai will deliver lectures on a wide range of topics — from sustainability in filmmaking to politics and irony in screenwriting. Among the guests are Latvian cinematographer Davids Smiltinš, producer Daiga Livčāne, and director Jānis Ābele; Finnish sound designer András Nádasi; and Estonian screenwriter Veiko Vaatmann.

The camp will also host film screenings on June 27 and 28, where residents of Kintai and the surrounding areas can enjoy short student films from the participating European countries and engage with the filmmakers. The main event will take place on July 7, showcasing the student films created during the camp. The screenings will be held at Kintai Primary School.
