Marius Šinkūnas

Marius Šinkūnas (b. 1983, Vilnius, Lithuania) is a percussionist, vibraphonist, educator, and radio host, awarded the status of Artist by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture in 2012. He earned his Master’s degree in Percussion at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (2010–2012) and studied at Western Michigan University (USA, 2008–2009) as well as the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (France, 2007). Since 2020, he has been Assistant at the Jazz Department of LMTA, and since 2012 has taught vibraphone and percussion at the Balys Dvarionas Music School. From 2009 to 2012 he worked as a music teacher at Tachikawa School in Tokyo, Japan. As a performer, he has collaborated with the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra and the Wind Orchestra “Trimitas”. In addition to his pedagogical and artistic work, since 2013 he has been a music editor and host at LRT Klasika, actively contributing to Lithuania’s cultural life.
