LMTA SUPPORTS COLLEAGUES IN UKRAINE AND READY TO HELP REFUGEES
Responding to the state of war in Ukraine, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre expresses support to our partner higher education institutions in this country and is ready to receive students, teachers, and refugees. The Academy also encourages the LMTA community members to donate and otherwise contribute to the support of the independent State of Ukraine.
The LMTA has sent letters of support to the partner institutions – The Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University and The Odessa National A.V. Nezhdanova Academy of Music. The Academy is prepared to receive students and teachers from Ukraine: integrate the students (in English and Russian) into all study programmes with grants by the Ministry of Education, employ the teachers, and provide temporary accommodation to the military refugees in Vilnius and Klaipėda.
The LMTA teachers and students are encouraged to donate to the Blue-Yellow Foundation: https://www.blue-yellow.lt/. The Academy invites to remain indifferent to all kinds of promotions for support for Ukraine and expresses support for individual initiatives by the members of the LMTA community.
A concert organised by the LMTA Department of Vocal Performance to support Ukraine is to take place on March 3: other LMTA departments are invited to join.
Let us be united – let us support our colleagues and all the people of Ukraine!
