LMTA Takes the Lead in NORTEAS Network with New Erasmus+ Nordplus Funding
The Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) is thrilled to announce that the Nordplus+ NORTEAS application for 2025–2026 has been approved, securing substantial funding to support collaborative theatre education and mobility in the Nordic-Baltic region. The total funding awarded amounts to €147,980, covering the period from late spring 2025 to early autumn 2026.
Several key projects across the network have received support:
- Intensive Course “Artistic Research” – €48,380
(Partners: Entire NORTEAS network) - Intersectional Pedagogies – €22,970
(Partners: Malmö Theatre Academy (Sweden), Norwegian Theatre Academy, Iceland University of the Arts) - Intensive Course “Building Bridges I” – €21,630
(Partners: University of Tartu – Viljandi Culture Academy (Estonia), Theatre Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki (Finland), Iceland University of the Arts) - Student and Teacher Mobility Fund – €55,000

This new funding cycle also marks a significant shift in leadership within the NORTEAS network. After three highly successful years under the coordination of TEAK (Theatre Academy, Uniarts Helsinki), the LMTA is proud to assume the role of network coordinator.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Lotta Karlsson and Ville Sandqvist for their dedicated guidance and leadership throughout the previous term. As we begin this new chapter, coordination responsibilities will now be led by Giedrė Kabašinskienė, with Andrius Katinas stepping in as network leader. Together, they will work closely with all 18 NORTEAS partner institutions across the Nordic and Baltic region.
The LMTA will also be supported by the invaluable F4 group (the “Fantastic Four”), as well as the coordinators, teachers, and leaders of the entire NORTEAS network.
We are deeply grateful to all partners for their contributions, enthusiasm, and commitment. With renewed energy and a strong collaborative spirit, we look forward to an exciting and impactful three-year journey ahead!
