ANGELO CASTALDO MASTER CLASSES FOR ORGANISTS

Angelo Castaldo (1973) was born in Naples, where he completed his early music studies in piano, organ, harpsichord and conducting. He graduated “cum laude” from the University of Naples Federico II with a degree in literature, received a master’s degree in musicology and a doctorate in philosophy of music from the University of Rome. Actively performs concerts all over the world – in major European cities, South America and the USA – in Washington, New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco, etc. Angelo Castaldo is a member of the jury of many international organist competitions, he regularly conducts master courses at various European music schools. He has been working as a journalist and music critic since 1993 in the daily “Napoli sera” and the magazine “Arte Organaria e Organistica”. He edited and published for the first time the works of M. E. Bossi, G. B. Pergolesi, G. Contruf for the organ, many works of the 20th century. organ music works – F. Capocci, F. M. Napolitano, E. Gubitosi, E. Marchetti. Recorded and released a whole series of CDs – the organ of the Basilica of Naples, the organ of the Washington National Cathedral, the organ of the Anglican Church of Sydney and many others. Angelo Castaldo is currently the St. Principal organist and choirmaster of Chiara Basilica. Vice-rector of G. Palestrina Conservatory Calgiari, founder of the International Organ Music Festival, and also founder of the Historical Organ Association.
