BETWEEN PLAY AND PROVOCATION: LITHUANIAN ECHOES OF FLUXUS

With this initiative, LRT KLASIKA and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre join the EBU’s invitation to celebrate Art’s Birthday. This bold program, crafted by Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre artistic researchers, reanimates Fluxus’ rebellious spirit through a modern Lithuanian prism. It showcases cutting-edge works blending composition, improvisation, and experimentation, tracing Fluxus’ local roots and its evolution.

Piano, modular synths, electronics, violin, and percussion collide in a live “sound lab,” where academic precision meets chaotic play. Echoing Fluxus’ love of paradox, the program includes different musical pieces and approaches to create an eclectic journey of post-modernity. Audiences journey through noise, silence, and surprise – a bridge between the roots of fluxus phenomena and 21st-century sonic exploration.

Performers: Lora Kmieliauskaitė, Matas Samulionis, Dominykas Snarskis, Julija Bagdonavičiūtė
