The Lithuanian Composers‘ Union‘s DAR Art Residency joined forces with the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, the Kintai Arts Residency and the Druskomanija Festival to invite talented European composers to Druskininkai and create environment for cooperation with young Lithuanian musicians. The compositions created at the residence will be performed at the Druskomanija and Kintai music festivals and at the international interdisciplinary festival N-Žemė in Nida. Five composers were selected from many candidates: Eliott Delafosse (BE), Justina Šikšnelytė (LT), Raimonda Žiūkaitė (LT), Eliorah Goodman (UK), Daniil Posazhennikov (RU). In Druskininkai, together with the LMTA contemporary music percussion ensemble, they will search for interpretations of their works. The work of these artists is new experimental music: it is often written in a graphic score, it integrates improvisational elements and seeks to discover new, never-before-heard consonances and meanings. Young Lithuanian choreographers and dancers will join the musical project at the festivals in Kintai and Nida.
