IMMERSIVE SOUND EXPERIENCE: DOCUMENTARY FILM “FISHING FREQUENCIES”
Do you want to hear what’s usually inaudible? Do you want to immerse yourself into an invisible world of sounds?
“Fishing Frequencies” is an unconventional documentary film. It is mixed and mastered in 24 separate audio channels and will be presented in its own audio format. We are partnering with Lithuania Music and Theatre academy and doing most of sound post-production at Julius Juzeliūnas spatial sound sphere, where the screening will take place as well.
Film synopsis:
A modern fairytale about sound hunting. “Fishing frequencies” tells the story of Audrius Simkunas, a field recording artist and a musician, who lives in a small town of Lithuania, Utena, where he extensively records his surroundings for over 20 years. He collects all kinds of sounds – from bats, swamp noises, underwater creatures to industrial sounds – empty abandoned buildings, city noises, electric circuit sounds, etc. He describes his activity rather as “a listening experience” than “recording” or capturing one. Dressed as a modern wizard, he goes with his devices into the wild and dives into pagan mythology – looking for those primal sounds there.
