KEMACA KINETIC

Seminars and concert

Meet Kemaca Kinetic, a trio that defies rhythmic canons. In the repertoire of this uncompromising Danish trio, you can find everything from jazz to groove-style music, where hypnotic rhythms intertwine with enchanting melodies.

Kemaca Kinetic consists of two young prodigies of the Danish jazz scene: tireless drummer Matias Fischer and guitar phenom Casper Hejlsen, working with renowned composer and pedagogue bassist Kenneth Duhl Knudsen. Their first virtual concert at the Blue Note Beijing club took place in 2021, and since then the group has released three singles and held more than 20 concerts in Denmark, Germany, France and Lithuania.

A futuristic mix of rock, jazz and drum’n’bass with roots in traditional jazz – this is how Kemaca Kinetic’s music style can be described. The group draws inspiration from ancient folk music and modern mathematics, looking for new opportunities to develop their musical vocabulary. But it’s one thing to research and search for musical DNA, it’s another to make a musical mammoth come alive and roar. Such is the musical experimentation you can hear at Kemaca Kinetic concerts.

The group is coming to Klaipėda faculty to conduct seminars on February 6-10. The topics of the seminars are focused on music composition and the use of polyrhythms and polymetrics in the development of conventional music composition rules. Also, teachers will work with a jazz and popular music ensemble. The week will be crowned by a joint concert of the students and the group Kemaca Kinetic in the jazz club “Kurpiai” on February 9, 21:00.
