Michelle Bernadette Wijaya (commonly known as Michelle Wijaya) was born in Jakarta, May 19, 2001. Michelle’s love for piano grew as she loved touching the piano keys in her cousin’s house when she was a small kid. At the age of 7, Michelle started having piano lessons with Mrs. Christina Sidjabat, and found out that Michelle does have a talent in playing piano. Michelle then attended ABRSM exams under the guide of Mrs. Imelda Hariandja and stopped in 2013 due to her teacher’s sudden death. To continue her musical journey, Michelle started learning from Mr. Iqbal Siddiq in Jaya Suprana School of Performing Arts. Until then Michelle was recommended by Mr. Jaya Suprana himself to attend junior masterclass program and performed her first solo recital playing Franz Schubert’s 8 Impromptus in 2015. This gave her MURI Record as the youngest pianist performing and recording Schubert’s 8 Impromptus. In 2016, Michelle performed her second recital in Sydney Opera House, playing several variations from Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, Handel, and Jaya Suprana. Since then Michelle had been performing in home concerts with her friends under the guidance of Mr. Siddiq in 2017, and now she got well prepared to perform her third recital in Lithuania in May 2018. For these several years, Michelle also got piano lessons with professors from Indonesia and Europe, including Jaya Suprana, Andrej Dutkiewicz, Anna Volovitch, Paulus Rudokas, Kasia Wieczorek, Rainer Klaas, and Amelia Santoso.
