2022 September 12, Monday, 19:00

LMTA Building 1: Julius Juzeliūnas Spatial Sound Sphere (Gedimino Ave. 42, Vilnius)
Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre: Grand Hall (Sakala 17, Tallinn)

NPAPW “LOLA” CONCERT

On 12 September at 7 pm a free public concert will take place in EAMT Grand Hall and LMTA Julius Juzeliūnas Spatial Sound Sphere at the same time. A classical duo will be performing: Mihkel Poll (piano) will be playing from Tallinn and Henry-David Varema (cello) will be playing from Vilnius. Musicians are playing at the same time while being 600 km apart from each other. Audience is very welcome to both concert halls. Concert is for free and is opened to everyone.

At the concert, software called LoLa and NREN (National Research and Education Network) will be used. LoLa enables to rehearse and perform music at a professional level at the same time with someone who is up to 4000 km away. It is possible because of the low-latency video and audio transmission system and very quick Internet connection.

Concert can be listened to in both locations at the same time.

𝗡𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗪 is the Network Performing Arts Production Workshop which takes place on 12-14 September in Tallinn, Estonia. It is an annual gathering of an international community exploring technologies that utilise advanced networks to enable interactive arts instruction, master classes, multisite performances, and remote auditions. These technologies make it possible to connect people who do not share, e.g., the same physical time and/or space.

The NPAPW22 is organised by GÉANT and supported by EENet (Estonian NREN) of HTM and will be hosted by and taking place at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Tallinn, Estonia.
