“Arrhytmias” was created by the choreographer Vytis Jankauskas for his dance theatre in 2013. The performance has been presented to the Lithuanian, as well as international audiences, and it was also nominated for the Golden Cross of the Stage award. Now “Arrhytmias” will be performed by the graduate students of the LMTA department of Dance and movement as one of their graduate performances, during which the students will have an opportunity to display the professional skills acquired during their studies.

According to Vytis Jankauskas, the dance performance “Arrhytmias” embodies the eternal dilemma of the relationship between the individual and society. On the on hand, a person is a social being, and only by being in society can he fully realize himself. On the other hand, society often tends to impose on the individual certain requirements, norms of ideals that do not necessarily coincide with the individual’s personal needs or the vision of his/her identity.
