GUEST FROM DENMARK: KRESTEN OSGOOD MASTERCLASS
Multi-instrumentalist, producer, radio host

During this meeting, Kresten Osgood will talk about his musical journey, impressive experiences, and concerts around the world. He will also demonstrate how to listen to music and provide live examples.

Kresten Osgood is one of the most prominent and versatile figures in contemporary music. Having begun his musical journey at just three years old, he has today recorded around 100 albums and performed worldwide — from prestigious concert halls to the most unexpected venues.

An exceptional drummer and improviser, he combines respect for tradition with bold, boundary-expanding decisions in his creative work. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with music legends such as Roscoe Mitchell, Paul Bley, Lee “Scratch” Perry, William Parker, Jason Moran, Joshua Redman, Peter Brötzmann, Brad Mehldau, and many others.

However, his activities are not limited to the stage. Kresten Osgood is a composer, pianist, vocalist, saxophonist, and trumpeter, an active organizer of musical life in Copenhagen, a television and radio host, and a recipient of numerous awards. He is also the co-author of a 17-part series on the history of Danish jazz created for Danish National Radio.

K. Osgood is an artist who continually expands the boundaries of music and invites audiences to discover new ways of listening.
