Dariusz Bąkowski-Kois – studied organ playing in Krakow, Warsaw and Vienna with Agnieszka Walczy, Józef Serafin, Magdalena Czajka and Thomas Schmögner, as well as at numerous mastercourses of the organ, harpsichord, clavichord and pianoforte performance practice. Since his studies carries on lively concert activity in Poland and abroad: in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, as well as in Mexico, Brasil, Russia and China. He has played recitals in such prestigious places as Hohe Domkirche Sankt Petrus zu Köln, Hohe Domkirche St. Peter zu Trier, Konstantin-Basilika (Aula Palatina) in Trier, Basilica Papale di San Paolo fuori le Mura in Rome, Antwerpen O.L.V.-Kathedraal, Sint-Baafskathedraal Gent, Sint-Salvatorskathedraal Brugge, Dom aan Sint-Maarten van Utrecht, Kathedrale basiliek Sint-Bavo Haarlem, Altenberger Dom, Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk Rotterdam, Grote of O.L.V. Breda, Metropolitan Evangelical Cathedrals in Tallinn and Turku/Åbo, Metropolitan Cathedral in Moscow or National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. In 2001-2007 closely collaborated with the Capella Cracoviensis ensemble, playing solo parts as well as organo obbligato and basso continuo in numerous concerts. He was a member of the jury of many international and national organ competitions.
In 1997 graduated also from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, where in 2002 received PhD in history. Since 1999 he teaches at Organ Department at the Academy/University of Music in Krakow (since 2013 at full professor post), leading classes in organ playing, chamber music and basso continuo. In 2014 fulfilled postgraduate studies Master of Business Administration – University Management at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
In 2008-2012 period was a Vice-Dean of the Instrumental Faculty, 2012-2016 a Vice-Rector of the Academy/University of Music in Krakow, 2016-2020 and again since 2024 has been holding the post of Head of Organ Department there.
