Karolis Žioltikovas

Karolis Žioltikovas is a guitarist. A graduate of two music schools — Klaipėda Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts (guitar classes with jazz musician and teacher Eugenijus Jonavičius) and Klaipėda Juozas Karosas Music School (guitar classes with guitarist and teacher Deividas Kontrimas), Karolis continued his studies at the Academy of Arts at the Klaipėda University to earn Bachelor in Jazz with Eugenijus Jonavičius and later graduated with an MA in Jazz from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (the class of Paulius Stonkus).

Musician Karolis Žioltikovas has given concerts with such performers as Tevet Sela (Israel), Wojtek Pilichowski (Poland), Vern Spevak (USA), Ira Spaulding (USA), Pavel Gunter, Saulius Šiaučiulis, Ąžuolas Paulauskas, Edmundas Kučinskas, Gytis Paškevičius (all – Lithuania), the Klaipėda Jazz Orchestra (conductor Kęstutis Sova), the Klaipėda State Music Theatre, and the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra. The guitarist has performed in the USA, China, Thailand, Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, and other countries of the world.

Together with the band Royce, Karolis has released three studio albums of original music. He has also been a valuable contribution to the recordings of albums by many Lithuanian artists.

Besides teaching at the Academy, Karolis Žioltikovas works at Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts in Klaipėda.
