Music Laboratory PROCESS
A music laboratory is an important event and a big step in the process of growth, improvement and evolution of culture. An original idea, a special artistic vision just born is in laboratory time developed, realized, provided a professional form and released to the world without having lost its initial lucidity and suggestivity. We believe that art created in out laboratories will become an important factor inciting the consciousness, cultural perception and artistic sophistication of the general public.
Nordplus IP Music Laboratory PROCESS is an educational project aimed at strengthening Nordic-Baltic cultural cooperation by training students of composition in a multinational and collaborative environment, promoting creative partnerships between composers and musicians, and disseminating innovative project results by exchange of experience.
The third Nordplus PROCESS takes place in a beautiful and unique Curronian Spit protected by UNESCO as the World Natural and Cultural Heritage. Nida Art Colony (www.nidacolony.lt/en/colony) is a temporary residence of the PROCESS participants from June 24th till July 4th, 2013. Project’s subtitle “ECO-Music” points out: art can bring an important message that we care about our planet and have a desire to live in peace with nature.
Ten-day project includes lectures and creative workshops led by international team of composers who have addressed the issue of ecology in their creative works. Students of composition will participate in hands-on creative sessions and compose music from its sketch (individual and collaborative) to the final version and through rehearsals to public performances by the Lithuanian Flute Quartet and/or composition students themselves.
