International recognition of LMTA scholars:
2016 – Prof. Dr. Habil. Daiva Vyčinienė was awarded the title of Honorary Professor at the Tbilisi Saradzhishvili State Conservatoire for her significant contribution in the field of ethnomusicology.
2014 – The doctoral thesis of Lina Navickaitė-Martinelli Piano Performance in a Semiotic Key. Society, Musical Canon and Novel Discourses was awarded the highest Finnish grade laudatur (outstanding) by the Council of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Helsinki.
2010 – Prof. Dr. Rūta Stanevičiūtė-Kelmickienė was awarded the Gloria Artis Medal of the Ministry of Culture and Education of the Republic of Poland, as well as the Honorary Prize of the Polish Composers’ Union for the development of Lithuanian-Polish musical relations.
2004 – Prof. Dr. Habil. Leonidas Melnikas was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor at Daugavpils University (Latvia).
1991 – Prof. Dr. Audronė Žiūraitytė was awarded the Prize of Vladas Jakubėnas Foundation (USA) for reviews.

1998 – Prof. Dr. Juozas Antanavičius was awarded the 4th Class Order of the Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania.
