Visa/Temporary Residence Permit
EU CITIZENS
All incoming students who come to live in the Republic of Lithuania for more than 3 months in half a year, may be issued a certificate confirming right of temporary residence in the Republic of Lithuania.
You have to submit your application and documents for the issue of the certificate in person through the Lithuanian Migration Information System (MIGRIS). Within 4 months from the date of submission of the application and the documents within the MIGRIS, you must personally come to the chosen branch of the Migration Department and submit the original documents, biometric data and sign the application.

NON-EU CITIZENS
All incoming students (Non-EU citizens) who arrive to the Republic of Lithuania and stay for more than 90 days within 180 days, must acquire visa/temporary residence permit prior to their departure for Lithuania:
- Students of the exchange programme must acquire visa. More information in Migration Department website.
- Full-time students must acquire temporary residence permit. More information in Migration Department website.
