Getting to Lithuania

Lithuania is connected to most European capitals and major cities by air, land or sea.


BY AIR: 

  • Vilnius airport (VNO) is 6 km from Vilnius city centre, about 20 minutes by taxi or bus; 300 km from Klaipėda and is about 3-4 hours by bus/minibus, train.
  • Kaunas airport (KUN) is 100 km from Vilnius and is about 1 hour by bus/minibus or train;  200 km from Klaipėda and is about 2-3 hours by bus/minibus.
  • Palanga airport (PLQ) is 330 km from Vilnius and about 4 hours by bus/minibus, train; 25 km from Klaipėda and about 0,5 hour by bus, taxi.

It is also possible to reach Lithuania by flying into a neighboring countries such as Latvia (Riga airport (RIX)) or Poland and then taking a bus or train to Vilnius and Klaipėda.


BY RAIL:

  • Vilnius train station is in central Vilnius, about 5-10 minutes’ walk from the Old Town.
  • Klaipėda train station is in northern part of the old town of the city.

BY BUS:

  • Vilnius Bus Station is close to Train Station, about 5-10 minutes’ walk from the Old Town.
  • Klaipėda Bus station is is close to Train Station in northern part of the old town of the city.

  • Intercity bus tickets: autobusubilietai.lt.

BY SEA:

  • Klaipėda port is 310 km from Vilnius, 3-4 hours by bus, minibus or train. 
  • Ferry tickets available on TT-Line, DFDS.
